When a birdwatcher sees a new bird they call it a 'Lifer'. I got a lifer today in the grocery store. Outside were these birds I was assuming were Brewer's Blackbirds. (Taken at 3 am)

Same spider from yesterday. His name is Joseph and he lives on my balcony.




Here it is. My lifer. This is a Brown-headed Cowbird. Once I got home to ID him I realized that the flock of 'Brewer's' up there are actually likely cowbirds also. I would have never made the ID if this juvenile hadn't flown overhead while I was debating breads.
