Birds. Pretty and tasty.

This book below has been invaluable to me for IDing birds. It's fun and specific, and I like just paging through and reading about random birds for fun.

Sibley's

Incidentally, I wouldn't mind this other Sibley's book about the Eastern birds. It would be delightful perhaps as a gift someday. You know, if someone wanted an idea for a good cheap gift. Someday. Ahem.

The other Sibley's

Four more days!

The pets of Eli's family. I hoped to see birds out in the woods, but sadly it was too dark when we got there for any decent shot.

I've been really busy getting a bunch or work done and having weird hours, getting ready for my trip home. This is why my pictures all suck. I dunno what those gulls are, It was a fast shot I took while in the middle of the intersection crosswalk.

Low light isn't kind to this camera. Maybe I should stop hunting birds at dawn and dusk.

New bird! Canada geese!

Under three weeks now. As per usual I would have loved to come home all slender and awesome, but this time it actually doesn't bother me. Why? Because I have been walking. I may eat like a stoned horse, but I can move around a lot better than I could a year ago. So I am happy.

In other news, I have learned how to make my own donair sauce! I have also learned how to make my own sweet and sour sauce. Never shall I go sauceless again!

Also, frogs. There's no silence in the night.
