The last time I went to get my fingerprints taken - a requirement for some immigrations crap - I knew there would be trouble. To start one woman began, spoke kindly and let me know everything that was going on. Things were going well, then the lady got a phone call and went to take it.
Enter the Second Woman. She roughly manipulated my fingers onto the digital device, and immediately the computer started putting up warnings that they weren't done right. She retook a couple, but it took forever. No one word was said.
After a point, the first woman peeked around the corner and asked if everything was fine. "Oh yeah" she says, and continues to have to retake each one four or five times.
Fast forward to a week ago. Surprise surprise I get a letter. 'The FBI could not process your fingerprints'. No shit?
Ah well. At least I get to go for a drive again.
