I don't know what in hell that bug is. Creepy eh?

Chestnut-backed chickadee. A female house sparrow, who has some chicks under a light fixture in an office building. A video of a darkeyed junco hopping to pick crud off the underside of the guardrail.

I know it's a lot of the same cat and etc. It's been very hot and I am having trouble going too far.

My dog is getting oooold.

Friday, April 24, 2009

A rather handsome pigeon. Crow. Male and female house sparrow. House sparrows are not typical sparrows. They are 'old world sparrows'. Despite being the only old world sparrow in my bird book here, they are apparently worse than rabbits.

Anna's hummingbird. He always seems to be there. Also, am I the only one who imagines using them as darts? Scrub jay. Griffin/Gryphon. I only know his name but not the spelling. I was patting him one day and the owner on the balcony told me his name. He has learned I give a darned good rubbing and now runs - not walks - to see me when I sneak outside.

The feral cats around here mock me.

Crow.

California cats are the same as all other cats. Pawprints on shiny clean cars.

Tuesday is 'Birds with crap in their mouths' day, apparently.

American goldfinch, Black phoebe. Griffin.

And back on track! Hummer is an Anna's Hummingbird.

(These birds are not from the 17th!)

An apology. I did end up accidentally missing this day. I woke up with something scheduled just before the sun went down. I didn't want to prowl around the neighborhood with my camera at night again. This will not happen again. I am now going to share some random animals from another day.

Black-crowned Night Heron, Bufflehead, Goldeneye.

Magical Technology

Now you see it, now you don't. I must apologize for the state of these blogs the last few days, particularly with my walking blog. Eli's laptop died suddenly. As a result we not only had to build him a new one on the fly, but he's been borrowing my PC in the meantime while parts were shipped.

This makes for not only a hostile and stressful environment of geeks going through computer withdrawals, but it also means that updates often had to fall onto the next day when I had time to use the computer while he was at work.

There's a rose up there. I thought I would share the rose I saw.

Wild turkey, kitty, and a mallard. There were two turkeys just chilling out in my special bird place I found.
